National Office Announces the Launch of NFFE Facebook Page
Wednesday, January 20, 2010(National Federation of Federal Employees)
Today, the
National Office is proud to announce the launch
of the newest tool in its growing
communications repertoire, the NFFE Facebook
page.
Facebook, a vast
social networking site wherein individuals and
groups can interact online, is a powerful tool
for communications, organizing, and advocacy of
all kinds. With over 350 million active users
worldwide, Facebook is a great way for NFFE to
engage both current and future members in the
labor movement.
NFFE’s page will
serve a number of important needs, keeping
members informed on the latest NFFE news,
legislative updates, events, organizing
activities, trainings, and much, much more. In
addition, photos of NFFE events will be posted
regularly, ushering in a new medium for
communicating what the union is doing for its
members. Users will also be able to donate to
causes such as the Richard N. Brown Memorial
Scholarship fund and access links to important
information from our brothers and sisters in
the IAM.
To become a ‘fan’ of NFFE’s page, simply click here, log into your Facebook account and select “Become a Fan.”You may also find us by clicking on the “Join Us on Facebook” button on the right hand side of NFFE’s website, www.nffe.org.
If you are not yet
a part of the Facebook community, contact NFFE
Communications Director Cory Bythrow for
details on how to get signed up. Guidelines
governing the proper use of web and social
networking sites will be issued by NFFE
National in the coming weeks.
Special thanks to
NFFE Office Manager Brittany Paull for all of
her hard work in making this Facebook page a
reality.
