NFFE Welcomes New Business Representative
Thursday, April 20, 2006
Washington, DC-The National Federation of Employees (NFFE-IAM) is pleased to announce that a new Business Representative, Gary Johanson, has been hired to represent NFFE members in the Midwestern region of the United States.
Johanson has a wide array of experience in the federal sector, having worked for the United States Postal Service, at a VA hospital, and most recently for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). He served as a union officer while working in all of those capacities, and served as president of NFFE FL2174, which represents BLM employees in Nevada. Johanson recently resigned from federal employment to join NFFE’s staff and serve as a Business Representative.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve federal employees and am mindful of my responsibility to work hard for our dues-paying members,” said Johanson.
Adding Johanson to our current team will
be an asset to both NFFE members living in the
Midwest region and others around the
country. He will bring his own unique
experience to the position, while also allowing
more time and energy to be devoted to all of
our locals.
Johanson began his new position this week, and has spent the last few days completing orientation in the National office. He will be relocating to the Midwest in the immediate future, though a specific location has not yet been finalized. He will soon begin contacting all the locals in his region, so those members in the Midwest can expect to receive correspondence from him in the near future.
“I am thrilled to welcome
Brother Johanson to our National staff,” said
NFFE National President/DBR Richard N.
Brown. “I am confident he will prove a
great asset to this union, and I look forward
to working with him to represent the needs and
interests of NFFE members.”
