NFFE Local 2109 Claims First Place in 2011 IAM Photo Contest

NFFE is
proud to congratulate the members of NFFE Local
2109 at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet,
NY, who came in First Place with their
submission to the annual IAM Photo Competition.
The winning photo was
taken by long-time Local 2109 member and
arsenal employee William Martin. Featuring
fellow NFFE-IAM member Kathleen Seeloff, the
photo was one of hundreds submitted by NFFE-IAM
members from locals throughout the country. The
photo shows Seeloff conducting a quality
control inspection of a 120mm mortar barrel
that – once assembled with various other
component parts – will be ready for use by our
men and women in uniform fighting overseas.
The Watervliet Arsenal is the nation’s oldest continuously active arsenal. Opened in 1813 to support the military’s efforts in the War of 1812, the Arsenal currently produces much of the artillery for the U.S. Army as well as barrels for tanks, mortars, and cannons.
“Congratulations to the members of NFFE
Local 2109 for all of the great work they do
day in and day out,” said Dougan. “Their
contribution to our security and the security
of those fighting for our country abroad is
immense. We are thrilled to see these employees
and the work they do every day receive the
recognition they
deserve.”
