2011 FEEA and Richard N. Brown Memorial Scholarship Application Deadline Just One Month Away; Apply Now!

This is a reminder that all applications for the 2011 FEEA and Richard N. Brown Memorial Scholarships must be postmarked by one month from today - March 25th - in order to be considered.
Applicants for the Richard N. Brown
Memorial Scholarship must be a NFFE-IAM member
in good standing or a spouse or child of a
member in good standing. The applicant or the
applicant’s sponsoring federal employee must
have at least three (3) years of civilian
federal service by August 31, 2011. Applicants
must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and some form
of community service. Dependant applicants
should be full-time students, while employee
applicants may be part-time students. All
applicants must be accepted into an accredited
degree program. This year, two $1,000
scholarships will be awarded to qualified NFFE
members or family members.
Submitting an application will also
automatically register applicants for hundreds
of other FEEA scholarships. Each year, the Federal
Employee Education & Assistance Fund awards
more than 400 scholarships to students across
the country and around the world. Last
year, 14% of the eligible students who applied
received awards. Federal employees made up 6.5%
of our overall applicant pool in 2010. 24 of
the 211 federal employees who applied won
scholarships worth $33,750 and the family
members of feds received
$454,700.
