NFFE National President Richard N. Brown's Statement on Nomination of John Berry as Director of OPM
Wednesday, March 4, 2009(National Federation of Federal Employees)
“The
National Federation of Federal Employees
strongly supports the nomination of John Berry
as Director of the Office of Personnel
Management. His stellar record of public
service and employee relations make him an
excellent choice for the position. Berry
has a wealth of executive leadership experience
from his time at the National Fish and Wildlife
Foundation and the National Zoo. He has
an intimate knowledge of the laws impacting pay
in the federal workforce because he was one of
the key figures in drafting the legislation
that created the modern federal pay
system. He also has a reputation of being
very fair minded and considerate toward his
employees. President Obama could not have
chosen a more qualified candidate to lead the
agency that manages the civil service. We
applaud his choice.”
